Escape room review of The Lost Treasure in The Room, Berlin

The Room in Berlin is often quoted as the best escape room destination in Berlin. It is also featured twice in the Top Escape Rooms Project website in 2019. We played The Lost Treasure first and later went back to try out Brandon Darkmoor this January.

Review of The Lost Treasure

In The Lost Treasure, your team enters an excavation site which leads to an Indiana Jones-themed room. This was easily one of the best rooms we've played in Berlin and it was so well decorated that a while after you enter the room it does get you in the mood for excavating and exploring.

Without spoiling anything, the gamemaster took us to a room that looked like an excavation site and we were given a bag with basic devices like a walkie-talkie, torch, etc. The torch was special though. It had a sensor turning it off and on when you were near designated points. This was something unique that we hadn't seen anywhere else.

We then had to squeeze ourselves through a tiny path to enter the central room. Decorated with archaeological pieces, this room had already lived up to our expectations. It was so amazing that the pieces looked like they were picked from an Indiana Jones movie set.

During the 60 minutes, we discovered hidden rooms & solved creative puzzles utilizing sound & light. The number of rooms felt never-ending at a point and we were engaged the whole time. There were tunnels we had to crawl into and it led to rooms that had their own puzzles. We were separated at times but were reunited in the end. The clue delivery was also pretty smooth and the room was so well organized that we did not even need so many clues to get out in time.

This was such a satisfying experience! We got our fix for puzzling, going on an adventure, solving riddles & much more. Being just 2 players, we didn't even have time to take a deep breath. We enjoyed being immersed in the experience for almost an entire hour and we think this is what makes The Room stand apart from all other escape room experiences.
