Escape room review of Make a break, Berlin

Make a Break is a humble escape room in Berlin with warm game masters and 3 nice rooms. We did the zombie room first, Berlin Never Dies, and the other two rooms in January 2020.

Escape room review of Tear Down This Wall

In this room, your team will cross the Berlin wall and find a way to transmit the message to tear down the wall.

We liked how this room was set up and especially the way the sounds were used in the room. Sounds are not a part of the game but an element of the ambience of the room. People murmuring, footsteps, etc was a nice touch.

The introductions of the rooms in "Make a break" will guide you really well in making sure you have what you need to successfully escape. Hence, we were well prepared for what will happen in the course of the next 60 (or fewer) minutes.

At the end, when all is found and decoded and transmitted, the room makes you feel that sense of achievement and satisfaction of really doing something. Even if not confetti or applause, how a room ends contributes so much to the experience and this room does this well.

The extensive introductions in the rooms are a pro and a con. But having done all the rooms, it also feels as if, without the introduction, we would've been really lost (given that we are experienced at this). So maybe this is not a real con after all.

Escape room review of Breaking Mad

In this room, you will search the home of Walter White and impersonate him to track and hunt him down.

We were thoroughly engaged since the time we got in and managed to escape well in time. The ending was not as great as the Tear Down This Wall room, but we did enjoy getting to the secret lab and "cooking" methamphetamine.

The extensive introductions in the rooms are again a pro and a con for us because the narrator almost told us in the beginning what we needed to escape and that does not feel very challenging for those who play for the kick of it.
